Concrete Patios in Bothell, WA

Why pick between price and quality? We build custom concrete patios that give you lasting value, with the look of stone, rock or brick if you want it.

A custom patio for how you live outside

A patio gives you a dry, level place to eat, relax and entertain outdoors, and it is part of a broader move toward a more casual, informal way of living. You can add real living space to your home without spending a lot of money by building a concrete patio.

Patio materials have become more popular as they have improved. Bothell Concrete Contractor builds patios with concrete, brick and stone. With concrete colors and coatings we can give you the look of authentic stone, rock or brick without the cost, and blending brick trim with concrete creates a look that is all your own.

Planning your patio

  • Size and shape. Think about what goes on it: a table and chairs, a grill, lounge chairs or a fire table, plus room to walk around them.
  • Connection. Plan how the patio meets the house, the lawn and any walkway that leads to it.
  • Drainage. A patio needs a gentle slope away from your house so rain runs off instead of pooling against the foundation.
  • Base. A compacted gravel base keeps the slab even and helps prevent cracking and settling.

Patio finishes

A broom finish keeps things simple with good grip. Exposed aggregate gives a natural, pebbled texture. Stamped and colored concrete looks like stone, slate or brick, and brick trim frames the patio and ties it to the house. See stamped and decorative concrete.

Finish options

Finish options

The finish decides how your concrete looks, how much grip it has in the rain and how much upkeep it needs. We help you choose during your free consultation.

Finish 01 / 04

Broom finish

A stiff broom is pulled across the fresh concrete to leave fine, even ridges. It is the classic finish for driveways and walkways because the texture gives tires and shoes good grip in the rain, and it is simple to keep clean.

Best for
Driveways, walkways, side paths
Grip when wet
Good
Upkeep
Low

Finish 02 / 04

Exposed aggregate

The thin top layer of cement paste is washed off before the concrete hardens, revealing the rounded stones in the mix. The pebbled surface has a natural, rugged look, plenty of texture underfoot and hides dirt and wear well.

Best for
Driveways, patios, walkways
Grip when wet
Very good
Upkeep
Low; a sealer keeps the stones bright

Finish 03 / 04

Stamped & colored concrete

Patterns are pressed into the fresh concrete and color is added, so the slab takes on the look of stone, slate, rock or brick without the cost of the real thing. A sealer brings out the color and protects the surface.

Best for
Patios, front walks, driveways
Grip when wet
Ask for an anti-slip additive in the sealer
Upkeep
Reseal every few years

Finish 04 / 04

Brick trim & borders

Blending brick trim with concrete creates a look that is all your own. A brick border or band frames a patio or walkway, ties it to the house and breaks up a large slab.

Best for
Patio edges, walkway borders
Pairs with
Broom, stamped or colored concrete
Upkeep
Low

FAQ

Concrete Patios questions

Can’t find your answer? Call (425) 230-3189, Monday to Saturday, 7 AM to 7 PM.

Is concrete a good patio material in the Pacific Northwest?

Yes. A well-built concrete patio handles rain well as long as it slopes away from the house and sits on a well-drained base. A textured finish adds grip when it is wet, and sealing decorative finishes helps them resist moss and stains.

Can a concrete patio look like stone or brick?

Yes. Concrete colors, coatings and stamped patterns give a patio the look of stone, rock or brick without the cost of the real thing, and brick trim can frame it.

How big should my patio be?

Start with what you want to put on it. A small table for four fits on roughly 10 by 10 feet; a dining set plus lounge chairs usually needs 12 by 16 feet or more. We help you size it during the free consultation.

How much does a concrete patio cost?

It depends on the size, the site and the finish. We give you a quote after a free consultation: call (425) 230-3189.
